We are Ellen and Jeri, two residents of Washington Heights trying to beautify our lovely ‘hood, and lift up some magical tree beds.
Plans are in flux! Right now, we have planted seeds or small sprouting plants at about a half dozen sites, and placed protective barriers around them (rods with string) to shelter the little plants as they grow. Here’s where to find nuestros jardines:
Some of the nicest things about working on these street tree beds has been neighbors’ friendly words, help from supers and shop owners, and smiles from passersby. Hope to see you out there soon!
